You’ve heard the stories. A lifestyle blogger posts a photo of her picturesque morning coffee routine.
Suddenly, she’s being inundated with sponsored content offers. An Instagram influencer jet off to Bali for a lavish vacation, all expenses paid, simply because he has a large enough following to be considered “influential.” It sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it? And it is… sort of. How beginner bloggers make money?
However, I intend to explain to you how you can start making money as an amateur blogger just starting a blog in case you are interested in this way of financial freedom.
While it’s true that there are bloggers out there who are making great money, it’s important to keep in mind that they are in the minority. Most bloggers don’t make any money at all. In fact, many bloggers actually lose money because they have to spend so much on hosting fees, domain names, and other necessary expenses. So, how much can you earn fast as a blogger? Let’s take a look.
1. Advertising Income
The first and most common way beginner bloggers make money is through advertising. This can take a number of different forms, from traditional banner ads to sponsored posts—blog articles that are specifically written to promote a product or service.
In order for a blogger to get paid for advertisements, they need to have enough traffic to attract advertisers in the first place. For example, suppose you’re only getting 500 page views per month. In that case, most brands aren’t going to be interested in paying you to promote their products because they won’t get enough of a return on investment. Generally speaking, you need at least 10,000 page views per month before you can start making significant money from advertising.
Another thing to remember is that advertising rates vary widely depending on your niche, traffic levels, and other factors. A popular fashion blog with millions of monthly pageviews might be able to charge $500 or more for a single sponsored post. In contrast, a small personal blog might only be able to charge $50.
2. Affiliate Income
Affiliate income is another popular way for bloggers to make money. Essentially, this involves promoting other people’s products on your blog and earning a commission on every sale that you generate. For example, suppose you have a blog about cosmetics.
In that case, you could sign up for an affiliate program with Ulta or other cosmetic companies.
You can earn money every time your readers click on an affiliate link and make a purchase.

Much like advertising income, the amount of money that you can make from affiliate sales will depend on your traffic levels and your niche. A general lifestyle blog might earn only a few dollars per sale, while a high-traffic blog in the beauty niche could easily earn $50 or more.
In other words, if you sell 10 products a day from your blog, and each product is worth $50, you will make $500 from affiliate income, but if you sell 100 products a day, you will make $5000.
3. Sponsored Posts
Another way that beginner bloggers make money is through sponsored posts. These are basically blog articles that are written to promote a specific product or service. Typically, the brand will give the blogger a free sample of the product to try out, and then the blogger will write a review of the product on their blog.

4. Product Reviews
If you’re an expert or skilled in a particular area, you can make money by writing product reviews on your blog. For example, suppose you’re a beauty blogger. In that case, you could review different cosmetics products and earn affiliate commissions on every sale you generate.
